Liberty Manor

Introduction to Liberty Manor                                                                                                                                                              Liberty Manor was created from a dream to build an intergenerational day care center to provide services to both children and adults. The goal was to create a place to capture the imagination and hearts of all ages and celebrate the wisdom of generations. This unique program provides purpose, connection and community for both children and adults. There is a choice of participation for both the adults and the children. We promote understanding and support between the generations. Time spent in the company of children can be a powerful antidote to depression and disability. Scientists have found that elderly adults participating in structured activities with children are more focused and in better moods than when children are not involved. An inquisitive child can make an elder feel appreciated and useful. Of course, not everyone enjoys the company of children. For this reason, intergenerational activities are always an option.

We continue to see a strong increase in the amount of responsibilities that fall upon caregivers. Caregivers torn between their jobs, the demands of raising children, and duties towards their elders may receive a much needed respite. Liberty Manor is designed to meet the physical, social and emotional needs of adults in need of supervised care and allow individuals to remain in their home. A plan of care is written to meet the needs of each individual and may include, but is not limited to, personal care, nursing services, social services, therapeutic activities, nutritional meals and snacks, physical therapy and daily living skills.
