Families United Network, Inc. is dedicated to strengthening families by providing children and youth with a safe, nurturing, community environment through a continuum of services.

Youth Advocates are positive mentors who help guide and make a difference in teens' lives. We need full-time direct support professionals to work with adolescents in a group home setting. Additional opportunities may be available based upon performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Report to the Group Home Supervisor or Program Supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment to ensure safety and well-being.
  • Comply with established program rules, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Complete all documentation that is required to occur on a daily or situational basis (incident report, doctor visits, etc).
  • Ensure that any resident wishing to have access to religious activities can do so, if desired.
  • Ensure residents receive weekly allowance money.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
  • Administer resident medications, according to agency policies and procedures.
  • Keep staff office and common spaces clean, neat, and free from hazards.
  • Meet with direct supervisor on a consistent basis for supervision sessions.
  • Meet on-call requirements.
  • Complete other duties, within reason, that are necessary to provide for the safety and welfare of a child or children as would a parent.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED and at least one (1) year of work experience with children.
  • Sensitivity to service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Eligibility under current Pennsylvania legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.
  • State Police, FBI, and Child Abuse clearances are required for this position and will be paid for by the agency, if necessary.
  • Successful incumbent will be required to successfully complete the Safe Crisis Management curriculum.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age per Department of Human Services regulations.
