We are looking for a full-time Maintenance Worker to maintain our Muncy campus grounds.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma, plus 2 years maintenance-related experience, or a minimum of 5 years maintenance-related experience.
  • Sensitivity to service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Eligibility under current Pennsylvania legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.
  • State Police, FBI, and Child Abuse clearances are required for this position and will be paid for by the agency, if necessary.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, controls, or equipment; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear; taste and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to withstand outdoor work, exposure, and the elements during all four seasons, including fluctuations in temperature and changes in weather conditions. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Responsibilities:

Maintenance personnel perform routine maintenance service and repairs to the facility and its grounds, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical repairs, electrical and equipment installations, and overall grounds-keeping functions. Maintenance personnel must adhere to all safety procedures, including regulatory and agency-based. Maintenance may also be asked to participate in estimates of time and materials costs for on-grounds projects, and may be responsible for requisitioning supplies, materials and equipment. Maintenance is also responsible for conducting quarterly safety inspections as required by the Health and Safety Committee for compliance with the Council on Accreditation.

Duties:

  • Report to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs of easy-to-moderate difficulty to facility structures, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs and installations, with adherence to safety procedures.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs to facility grounds with adherence to safety procedures.
  • Make recommendations to Administration on the maintenance requirements of the facility and preventive or remedial actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance repairs, requisitions of supplies, and safety procedures.
  • Review all supply, material, and equipment purchases and rentals with Administration prior to requisitions.
  • Maintain walkways and common areas to ensure safety of staff, clients, and visitors.
  • Assist in scheduling and overseeing contractor’s proposals and subsequent work.
  • Agree to serve in an on-call capacity for after-hours emergencies.
  • Serve on Health and Safety Committee to meet requirements of the Council on Accreditation.
  • Conduct quarterly facility inspections and report findings to both Administratoin and Health and Safety Committee, assisting with correction of deficiencies.
  • Attend required trainings and staff meetings.
  • Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
