Muncy-Adoption and Permanency Case Worker

Families United Network, Inc. is seeking a candidate to work out of our Muncy, Pennsylvania office. The position will require travel between Muncy and surrounding counties. This is a casual position, working hours as needed.

Specific responsibilities include providing an array of services to foster children and resource families including writing family and child profiles, preparing children for permanency, and recruiting for waiting children and families. Additional responsibilities include ensuring compliance with applicable state regulations and Families United Network, Inc. policies; scheduling and providing adoption orientation trainings to families; attending adoption finalization hearings; and assisting in the planning and coordination of events aimed at promoting and/or celebrating adoption and permanency.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Social Work or a related field.
  • Two years of experience working with children and/or families (preferred).
  • Ability to form appropriate working relationships with adults and children from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Sensitivity to service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Eligibility under current Pennsylvania legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Valid PA Driver’s License.
  • State Police, FBI, and Child Abuse clearances are required for this position and will be paid for by the agency, if necessary.

Individuals who are organized, possess excellent writing skills, and are knowledgeable about the Statewide Adoption & Permanency Network (SWAN) are encouraged to apply. Previous adoption experience is preferred.
