Residents identified for the sexual abuse therapeutic specialty have a history of abuse in their life and are in need of counseling and education to allow the healing process to begin. In addition to the services provided by the Basic Program, residents enrolled in this therapeutic service also receive the following services:
Additional Counseling Services
Education Services
Community Outreach Exposure
Residents participate in weekly individual and group sessions related to sexual abuse. Educational services are provided to expose the resident to the far-reaching effects of sexual abuse in relation to personal development, family dynamics, relationships and boundaries, and domestic violence. Additionally, each resident is exposed to community support systems available through women's support services and domestic abuse advocacy groups. Ashler Manor works closely with the placing agency to assist in investigations and court proceedings in cases where the abuse is revealed while in our program.
