Referral Process

When you refer a child/children to Families United Network, Inc. we will efficiently gather the information necessary to identify the best possible placement. A staff member will be available to take your call during regular office hours, and an on-call staff member can take your call after hours.

Before a child is accepted into care, three basic criteria must be met.

  • The child must voluntarily accept foster care placement
  • The child must not be a threat to themselves or others
  • The child may not have a history of fire setting

Children placed in a Family-Based Treatment Home with Families United Network, Inc. will receive full case management services, including:

  • Weekly in-person contact during first 30 days of placement
  • Bi-monthly face-to-face contact beyond 30 days
  • Weekly phone contact, with children and families
  • Quarterly progress reports (monthly in some counties)
  • Semi-annual Individual Service Plans
  • Legal family involvement
  • Liaison with county, school and community resources
