International Adoption - Vietnam

During 2003, all adoptions from Vietnam to the United States were suspended. In June of 2005, a bilateral agreement between Vietnam and our government was signed, allowing for the resumption of international adoptions between our two countries.

The adoption professionals at Families United Network believe that the lifting of the international adoption ban in 2005 was a victory for the needy children of Vietnam. We are now in the process of developing a comprehensive proposal to submit for approval by the adoption authorities in Vietnam. Approval is required before we can formally begin to accept applications for this program.

Recently, Families United Network has gained a valuable ally in the Friends of Danang. The Friends of Danang is a well respected non-profit volunteer organization that has a mission of providing humanitarian aid to needy children that reside in and around the city of Danang. With the help of the Friends of Danang, we hope to establish our Vietnamese adoption program sometime in 2007.
